Equipment

  • Charcoal Smoker, or Offset Smoker
  • Wood Flavor: Apple or Mesquite

Ingredients
  

  • 1 bunch of fresh asparagus
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • parmesan for topping

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your pellet smoker to 225°F.
  • Wash and dry 1 lb of fresh asparagus.
  • Trim the woody ends of the asparagus.
  • Place the asparagus in a large bowl and drizzle with 2 tbsp of olive oil.
  • Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper to taste and mix until the asparagus is evenly coated.
  • Place the asparagus in a single layer on the smoker grates.
  • Smoke the asparagus for 1 hour, or until it reaches your desired level of tenderness.
  • Remove from smoker, squeeze lemon juice over the asparagus spears, and sprinkle with parmesan
  • Serve immediately and enjoy the delicious flavors of your smoked asparagus.
