Wood Fired Pizza Bread

Equipment You’ll Need

  • Mixing bowl
  • Wooden spoon
  • Rolling pin
  • Pit Boss Peach Butcher Paper (or parchment)
  • Smoker or BBQ (preheated to 400°F)
  • Pizza stone (optional)
  • Basting brush
  • Knife or pizza cutter

Ingredients

For the Dough

  • 1½ cups All-Purpose Flour
  • ½ tsp Quick Rise or Pizza Yeast
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • ⅔ cup Very Warm Water
  • 2 tsp Honey (or sugar)

For the Toppings

  • ¼ cup Boar’s Night Out White Lightning Double Garlic Butter
  • ¼ cup Olive Oil
  • 2 tbsp Oregano
  • ¼ cup Parmesan Cheese

Instructions

1. Make the Dough

  • In a medium bowl, mix the flour, yeast, and salt.
  • In a separate cup, combine warm water, olive oil, and honey.
  • Pour the liquid into the dry ingredients and mix with a wooden spoon until a dough forms.
  • Transfer to a floured surface and knead for 2 minutes.
  • Place the dough into a lightly oiled bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let it rise until doubled in size (about 45–60 minutes).

2. Roll and Season the Dough

  • Cut the dough in half and roll each half into a 12” circle.
  • Place each dough round on a sheet of Pit Boss Peach Butcher Paper.
  • Brush each pizza bread with olive oil.
  • Sprinkle on the White Lightning Double Garlic Butter, oregano, and Parmesan cheese.
  • Tip: Don’t be shy with the White Lightning—it’s the secret to that bold, buttery garlic flavor.

3. Cook the Pizza Bread

  • Set your smoker to 400°F.
  • Place the pizzas directly on the grill grates (on the butcher paper) or use a pizza stone if you have one.
  • Smoke for 8–12 minutes depending on the thickness of the dough.
  • For thicker crusts, reduce heat to 350°F and extend the cooking time slightly.

4. Serve

  • Slice and serve hot with your favorite pasta sauce for dipping.
