Whisk all of the ingredients together until the sauce is smooth and well combined.
Place the saucepan over medium-high heat and bring the sauce to a boil.
Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally until it thickens to your desired consistency.
Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the sauce cool to room temperature.
Once cooled, transfer the sauce to an airtight container and store it in the refrigerator until ready to use.
