Chicken Rub Recipe
Chicken is typically paired with a marinade to allow the juices to soak into the meat, adding flavor. However, sometimes a crunchy coating of a dry rub is the right way to go when it comes to cooking chicken. If you're after a dry rub perfect for any cut of chicken, look no further.

- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1½ tsp coarse kosher salt
- 1¼ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp freshly ground black pepper
- ½ tsp ground chipotle chile pepper
- ½ tsp smoked paprika
- ¼ tsp dried oregano leaves
- ¼ tsp mustard powder
- ¼ tsp cayenne pepper
Combine all of the ingredients in a small bowl.
Mix the ingredients together until everything is well combined.
Rinse and pat the chicken dry with paper towels
Sprinkle the rub over the entire surface of the chicken, making sure to press in with your fingers.
Allow the chicken to sit with the rub on it for at least 30 minutes before cooking.
Place the chicken on the grill and cook until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
Store any unused chicken rub in an airtight container.
