Grilled Salmon Recipe

Equipment

  • Gas Grill (you can also use a charcoal grill or any smoker with 2-zone heating)

Ingredients
  

  • 4 salmon fillets with skin
  • 4 tbsp olive oil/ vegetable oil (For seasoning)
  • 2 tbsp dried dill weed
  • 1 tbsp kosher salt
  • 1 tbsp black pepper
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 lemon juice (zested)

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your gas grill to 400°F using two-zone heat. You can use a charcoal grill for this recipe as well, or any grill that can accommodate 2-zone grilling (one half using direct heat, the other using indirect heat)
  • Clean the salmon and pat it dry, leaving the skin on
  • Combine olive oil, dill, garlic powder, lemon zest, salt, and pepper and brush it all over the salmon, everywhere except the skin.
  • Place the salmon skin side down on the indirect heat side of the grill and cook for 8 minutes.
  • After 8 minutes, squeeze a lemon over the salmon, flip the fillets, and place on the direct heat side of the grill.
  • Sear the salmon for 2 minutes or until it reaches an internal temperature of 145°F.
  • Remove the salmon from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes.
  • Serve the grilled salmon hot with lemon wedges and a sprinkle of salt
